Administrator Samantha Power Travels to Pakistan September 8, 2022
On September 8, Administrator Samantha Power arrived in Pakistan to assess the impacts of the devastating floods that have affected one-third of the country. During her trip, she will meet with the teams on the ground responding to this emergency, talk to Pakistanis about the devastating impacts these floods are having, and discuss with Pakistani leaders how the United States can best support the people of Pakistan. She will also meet with affected communities, Government officials, and partners to bolster the response and raise awareness so that assistance gets to the people who need it most.
In support of Pakistan’s flood response efforts and recognizing the continuing immense needs, USAID deployed a Disaster Assistance Response Team to lead the U.S. Government’s response efforts in Pakistan, identifying priority needs and coordinating closely with the Government of Pakistan and with humanitarian partners to ensure effective and efficient delivery of assistance.
The United States stands with the people of Pakistan during this difficult time.
