USAID Trains Albania Tax Officials on New Property Law

TIRANA, ALBANIA     USAID’s Planning and Local Governance Project (PLGP) and the Ministry of Finance and Economy organized a training session on the new methodology for property taxes on buildings. The project presented the new methodology to 37 managers and representatives of Tax Departments from 18 municipalities. As a result of the training the project received direct feedback from municipalities regarding concerns, lessons learned, and promising practices in the application of the new law on property tax on buildings. In the coming week, PLGP, in cooperation with the General Department of Property Tax, will conduct two additional training sessions in Lezha and Fier with representatives of the remaining 43 municipalities.
