USAID promotes economic growth and trade in Angola by mobilizing private sector investments and forming partnerships that support sustainable development. Collaborating with ExxonMobil, Azule Energy, and Grupo Simples, USAID supports rural women farmers by providing tools for employment, education, and economic participation, focusing on land rights, literacy, and agricultural productivity. The Women in Angola Farming project, implemented in partnership with the Angolan government, aims to enhance women’s economic security across ten provinces.
Additionally, USAID’s Dinheiro Digital é Melhor project, in collaboration with Africell, seeks to build a robust digital payments ecosystem in Angola to boost financial inclusion. The USAID Africa Trade and Investment program, under the Prosper Africa initiative, enhances trade and investment between Africa and the United States, creating jobs and facilitating private-sector solutions across the continent. USAID also funds the Empower Southern Africa (ESA) program to expand renewable energy access in Southern Africa, tackling energy poverty, fostering innovation, and promoting decarbonization.
