The USAID Rule of Law Innovation, Design, Experimentation, Acceleration, and Solutions (IDEAS) Lab serves to amplify and build on the ideas and actions articulated in the USAID Rule of Law Policy. The Lab offers a dedicated knowledge and support center for USAID Missions, personnel, partners, and rule of law influencers, empowering local actors to ensure the rule of law and that democracy

What We Do

With the implementation of the Policy, USAID is prioritizing the use of new tools for planning, design, and feedback for rule of law activities. The Lab provides a collaborative space to share knowledge, generate data, develop cutting-edge tools, and implement game-changing approaches that strengthen the rule of law and promote people-centered justice.

How We Work

To facilitate a collaborative and evidence-based approach to promoting rule of law, the Lab:

Assists those closest to rule of law and justice problems to identify and prioritize justice problems and develop solutions

Supports innovation and experimentation in USAID rule of law and people-centered justice programming Disseminates knowledge and learning and contributes to the global knowledge base for strengthening rule of law and people-centered justice
