In 2022, USAID launched the Democracy Delivers Initiative recognizing that no entity alone can ensure the success of a democratic opening. As such, we have committed to supporting reform-minded governments, civil society, and citizens seize moments of democratic opportunity by mobilizing a multi-stakeholder community of action dedicated to democratic renewal and resilience around the world.
In 2023, the Democracy Delivers Commitment to Action brought philanthropic and private sector partners together toward a common pursuit of increasing investment across sectors in countries experiencing a democratic opening to support democratic progress.
In 2024, USAID further expanded the Democracy Delivers community of action and welcomed fellow government partners, including: Australia, Canada, Denmark, Estonia, Ireland, Finland, New Zealand, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID), and the United Kingdom’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office.
Through diplomatic and development efforts, we came together to pursue the following actions to support democratic progress and principles and sustainable democratic development around the globe:

Strengthen information resilience and advance narratives that affirm democracy
