The Horn of Africa Resilience Network (HoRN) focuses on building resilience in areas of recurrent crisis throughout the drylands across East Africa. Serving as a coordination and learning platform to end extreme hunger in the HoRN communities, HoRN works with resiliency actors in Ethiopia, Kenya, South Sudan, Uganda, Democratic Republic of Congo, and Somalia.
Through the HoRN network, USAID’s Resilience Learning Activity (RLA) highlights ongoing USAID, National Governments, regional entities, and other donor initiatives that assist communities in managing conflict, mitigating the impact of natural disasters, and forestalling crises that otherwise limit the impact of development. The HoRN platform allows for the creation of a community of practice that identifies how initiatives can be further replicated and scaled to inform communities on how their pathways out of poverty can be achieved.
