USAID's maternal and child survival programs are focused on 25 countries with the highest need, demonstrable commitment to achieving sustainable and efficient program outcomes, and the greatest potential to leverage U.S. government programs and platforms. Since 2000, remarkable progress on maternal and child survival has been made, with a 55% decrease in under-five child mortality and a 42% decline in maternal mortality across USAID’s 25 priority countries. These numbers represent more than just statistics; they signify lives saved, dreams realized, and a brighter future for millions of women and children.
