The position is located in the Kolkata Consular Region, which covers the states of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Jharkhand, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, Tripura, and West Bengal.  In addition, as needed, the incumbent also provides support for other USAID health investments in the consular states and regions working closely with Front Office and Other Technical Offices to coordinate and represent USAID’s development interests and sharing best practices with Bangladesh and Bhutan.

The incumbent is delegated by the USAID Health Office (HO) to lead the USAID/India health activities in the region and reports to the HO and to the Kolkata Consul General and other senior State Department consulate members on progress towards achieving health goals as well as program and policy challenges and constraints and intervention priorities and mechanisms.
