Our Work
USAID is driving regional growth by facilitating cross-border power trade and developing integrated power markets. We are investing in cutting-edge, secure telecommunications networks and supporting the export of Indian digital innovations throughout the Indo-Pacific. These efforts are designed to optimize resources, lower energy costs, create technology-driven job opportunities, and include marginalized communities in regional and digital economies.
Our Impact
Since 2020, USAID has empowered over 32,000 women-led micro and small businesses to thrive in the digital economy. We are reducing mobile network power consumption by 35% and supporting the transition to secure 5G technology. By 2027, USAID’s work will facilitate 4 trillion watt-hours of regional power trade—equivalent to the annual electricity use of about 30 million households—enhancing energy reliability and affordability for millions across the region.
