OUR WORK
The United States is committed to preserving and promoting Tibetan culture and identity, while expanding access to finance and livelihood opportunities for Tibetan entrepreneurs. USAID expands access to healthcare, educational opportunities, and services. Leveraging AI, USAID is creating a centralized Tibetan digital library to preserve rare manuscripts, artifacts and other cultural resources, ensuring their accessibility for future generations.
Our Impact
USAID's efforts have broadened educational opportunities, supported Tibetan artisans, and created sustainable livelihoods for entrepreneurs, while also raising awareness of gender-based violence and improving healthcare access for thousands of Tibetans in India and Nepal. Initiatives such as support for the Norbulingka Institute in Dharamsala and the Himalayan Buddhist Library in Nepal highlight USAID’s commitment to cultural preservation and community development.
