Dian Kurniawati started her own plastics recycling business in 2016. Today, she employs 100 workers and processes 250 million plastic bottles each year.

The importance of homegrown organizations is, first, to create more jobs. Obviously, foreign investment can create jobs, but also we’re looking to increase the entrepreneurship rate in Indonesia.

Tridi Oasis collects and manufactures recycled plastic bottles, turning municipal waste into a valuable resource that boosts the economy and creates new green jobs, and reduces the flow of plastics into oceans and waterways. In 2020, the company received technical and financial assistance from Circulate Capital and USAID to build organizational capacity and improve its cash flows and productivity.
