Partnership for a Lead-Free Future

In low- and middle-income countries, home to more than 1.5 billion of the world’s children, one in two children has elevated levels of lead in their blood.

Launched at the 79th UN General Assembly by USAID and UNICEF, the Partnership for a Lead-Free Future is the first ever global public-private partnership dedicated to tackling lead exposure in low- and middle-income countries.

The Partnership has committed to ending childhood lead poisoning by 2040, bringing together governments, public and private sector organizations to create a lead-free future for every child.
