In late August 2021, USAID’s Deputy Assistant Administrator (DAA) for the Latin America and Caribbean, Mileydi Guilarte, paid her first official visit to Mexico.  During a three-day visit to the Mexican capital, DAA Guilarte met with officials from the Mexican Agency for International Cooperation for Development (AMEXCID) to strengthen the bilateral partnership in the context of the recent signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the United States Government and the Government of Mexico (GOM).  Additionally, DAA Guilarte witnessed the signing of an impactful Letter of Intent with the Federal Commission for Protection against Health Risks (COFEPRIS).  Along with Mission Director Bruce Abrams, DAA Guilarte met with the GOM’s National Search Commission, and held a series of roundtables on climate change, human rights and with civil society.
