Putting Food Security at the Forefront, Maximizing Foreign Aid’s Impact, Investing in Solutions to Ocean Plastic, and More
USAID celebrated World Food Day this month by highlighting the incredible story of Prakseda Melkior. Prakseda is a Tanzanian farmer whose passion for agriculture began when she was a child. With support from USAID, she was able to transform her farming methods by adopting solar-powered irrigation, and in the process reduce costs and expand her business overall. As the world faces unexpected challenges in food crises fueled by conflict and climate disasters, USAID remains committed to providing food aid while building resilient food systems. Through initiatives like the Feed the Future Accelerator, USAID is working to empower communities, prevent crises, and ensure food security for all those we help.
