Trevor Hublin is the in-coming Country Representative to USAID/Benin. Prior to USAID/Benin, Mr. Hublin served in Vietnam managing USAID’s governance and business enabling environment work as the Deputy Director for Economic Growth and Governance. From 2021-2022, he served in Washington as the Director of the Office of Central America and Mexico Affairs, at the LAC Bureau coordinating and overseeing budget and policy for five USAID Missions.
Mr. Hublin has also served as the Deputy Chief for the Conflict, Peacebuilding and Governance Division at the Africa Bureau covering and supporting Benin and West Africa; and the Regional Mission in El Salvador coordinating work on migration, citizen security and human rights across Central America. Other USAID overseas assignments include the Democracy and Governance Office Director in Ethiopia; Director and Deputy Director of the Office of Governance and Vulnerable Populations in Sri Lanka, and member of a Provincial Reconstruction Team in Afghanistan. Mr. Hublin has served as USAID Representative to the American Foreign Service Association (AFSA).
Prior to USAID, he served on active duty for seven years as an officer in the U.S Marine Corps with worldwide service. Mr. Hublin has an M.A in International Relations from Syracuse University and a B.A in Criminology from Marquette University. He enjoys family time above everything, sports, history, food, fitness and looks forward to traveling - especially around Benin and West Africa.
