USAID provides Pacific people with a path to self-reliance and resilience through a partnership with the University of the South Pacific’s (USP) Pacific Technical and Further Education College (Pacific TAFE).
USAID Climate Ready and USP Pacific TAFE have provided quality, accredited courses to people responsible for the management and implementation of climate change projects.
This is part of the commitment by USAID to build a climate-resilient Pacific Islands region in a manner that is gender-balanced, socially inclusive, and practitioner-led. As climate finance starts to flow into the Pacific, there will be an increasing demand for skilled managers to implement the projects funded by the climate finance institutions. USAID and USP Pacific TAFE are playing a vital role in meeting this demand.
