The Coordinator of Indigenous Organizations of the Amazon River Basin (COICA) is an international indigenous organization that coordinates the national federations of Amazonian indigenous peoples for representation to various intergovernmental bodies and international non-governmental organizations for different interventions within the Amazon Basin. Improving COICA’s institutional capacity to better serve its members is important for the whole amazon indigenous agenda and conservation of the Amazon.
This project will develop COICA’s institutional capacity by training its personnel on organizational capacity, including but not limited to governance, organizational management, program management, human resources management, and financial management. This will result in a more professional organization, better able to represent the needs of its constituents, with a diversified and sustainable funding base.
