The space "The Forest Appears" -created to emphasize the connection between nature and sustainability- stands out in the design and architecture fair.
The Technological Institute of Production (ITP), through its Forest Network, has been participating in the design and architecture fair CASACOR Peru 2024. With the support of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the United States Forest Service, through the FOREST+ project, a setting has been implemented that highlights the value and versatility of Peruvian wood in the manufacture of products and structural systems.
The exhibition features a wide range of wood species and products that seek to highlight the importance of ensuring traceability throughout the wood value chain.
The opening of this space was attended by César Manuel Quispe Luján, Deputy Minister of SMEs and Industry of the Ministry of Production; Alberto Maurer Fossa, executive director of the ITP, and Gino Catturini Ruiz, director of CITEmadera Lima. Likewise, Kevin Rodríguez and Manuel Abadie, directors of the CITEforestry centers in Pucallpa and Maynas, respectively.
The ceremony highlighted the joint commitment of these entities to promote sustainability and innovation in the use of wood in architecture and design.
The setting has been designed by architects Augusta Pastor and Santiago Roose, who were recognized at the CASACOR Peru 2022 awards in the categories of Best Project, Most Original Project, and Boldest Project.
Generating and enhancing a sustainable market for wood not only drives the economy but also ensures the conservation of the valuable Amazonian forests. The United States Forest Service and USAID have been supporting the ITP Forest Network for 10 years, providing technical assistance, strengthening capacities, and achieving synergies among the different actors involved in the forestry industry.
CASACOR 2024 is being exhibited at the Pérez Araníbar nursery facilities, in the district of Magdalena del Mar, until July 7th.
