Clean and Efficient Cooking Technologies and Fuels Toolkit
Primarily aimed at bringing USG staff and external project developers and implementers up-to-speed on significant developments in the cookstove sector in recent years. The goal is to showcase, through accurate and up-to-date information and links, the manner in which cookstove projects can achieve impacts across a range of sectors, from forestry, energy and environment to livelihoods and income generation, not to mention health, school feeding, and women’s empowerment. The toolkit provides an overview of how the cookstove sector is evolving, best practices and key challenges.
Clean Energy Lending Toolkit
Describes procedures and shares case studies to help the financial industry determine the profitability and viability of lending to consumers, small and medium-sized enterprises, energy companies and project implementers. It also gives information on how to assess capabilities and needs to successfully serve this market and create products for lending to clean energy companies.
Coping with the Energy Challenge
Provide a broad diagnostic framework to identify a country’s potential energy sector challenges, particularly as related to a country’s dependency on oil. This framework assesses country vulnerability by focusing on specific energy sector conditions as reflected by the various indicators included here, which were chosen because they provide insights into the overall dynamics of the energy sector.
Illustrate the linkages between challenges (identified by the indicators) and potential interventions that should be considered when developing USAID mission’s programs to cope with the challenges related to oil dependency. (It is important to clarify that this tool does not automatically provides appropriate answers for all countries in the world. Individual assessments should be carried out to adjust and customize level of detail required for specific countries).
Provide a comprehensive bibliography organized in a manner that allows the user to explore direct links to papers, studies or reports illustrating the various interventions.
