With support from the U.S. President's Malaria Initiative (PMI) activity managed by USAID, the government of Sierra Leone is increasing the competency of nurses and other health service providers to reduce malaria prevalence in the country.

Through this mentoring approach, USAID’s partner Impact Malaria supports Sierra Leone’s National Malaria Program to deliver better malaria services by training a health facility supervisor who in turn trains frontline health workers on how to conduct malaria testing, accurately prescribe dosage of medications, and how to facilitate referrals into health facilities.
