Vietnam’s Ministry of Health recently approved an agreement for its contracting with suppliers for the procurement of TLD, a superior HIV treatment drug, through price negotiation. To prevent interruptions in the supply of this essential medication, USAID supported a virtual guidance session for representatives of more than 300 health facilities nationwide on timely and coordinated contract signing and drug receipt procedures. As a result, 93 health facilities completed contracts for 55,000 bottles of TLD, resolving immediate shortages and safeguarding continued patient care.
This initiative ensures that HIV patients across Vietnam receive uninterrupted access to essential TLD medication, crucial for maintaining effective treatment and improving health outcomes nationwide. [Local Health System Sustainability project]
