Danang City receives 95% of its daily water supply from the lower Vu Gia River. Unfortunately, this water is polluted upstream. USAID’s Local Works Collective Action for Water Conservation project partnered with the city to develop two water maps; one map tracks pollution hotspots and the other tracks population density along the river.
By using these maps to monitor water quality, Danang will be able to develop community-led intervention models to protect water resources along the river basin and reduce water scarcity.
