The transgender community in Ho Chi Minh City faces limited access to specialized health care services, including hormone therapy and HIV care. On August 13, with USAID support, TransCare Clinic officially opened its doors to provide essential services such as hormone therapy consultation, mental health support, and HIV/STI testing and treatment. USAID will continue to partner with TransCare Clinic to expand promotion of a preventative HIV drug, PrEP, and address ongoing gaps in transgender health care across Vietnam.
The launch of TransCare Clinic addresses critical health care gaps for the transgender community in Ho Chi Minh City and sets a precedent to increase access to essential services for this community across Vietnam. [Support for Technical Excellence and Private Sector Sustainability in Vietnam]
