Transitioning to digital platforms is increasingly necessary for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to gain access to international markets and maintain competitiveness through the COVID-19 pandemic. On September 9, the USAID Linkages for Small and Medium Enterprises project (USAID LinkSME), the Agency for Enterprise Development of the Ministry of Planning and Investment (AED/MPI), and Amazon Global Selling Vietnam launched the "Go Digital, Go Global” e-commerce initiative to support the digital transformation of enterprises through 2025. During the training program, participating SMEs will have access to individual and group advisory sessions led by Amazon Global Selling Vietnam on how to sell their products on e-commerce platforms, including on Amazon.com, and how to maximize cross-border trade opportunities in a digital economy. To date, seventy-four enterprises have registered and 51 have qualified to participate. USAID LinkSME expects at least 400 SMEs to be registered by the end of 2021. Several business support organizations focusing on digital transformation joined the launch.
By supporting digital transformation of Vietnamese SMEs, USAID is helping enhance competitiveness, boost cross-border trade, and strengthen adaptation for COVID-19 recovery.
