With roughly 75 million gasoline-powered motorbikes in Vietnam, transitioning to electric presents tremendous opportunity for reduced emissions from transportation, one of the leading greenhouse gas contributors in Vietnam. On September 18, Selex Motors launched its first of three battery swapping stations for electric two-wheelers in Danang city. USAID supported the Vietnamese EV start-up in identifying the stations’ locations as part of building an energy-efficient urban infrastructure model under the Vietnam National Energy Efficiency Program. USAID’s Mission Director joined the Selex CEO and representatives from the Ministry of Industry and Trade and Danang Department of Industry and Trade at the launch event.
