Where We Work
USAID's maternal and child survival programs are focused on 25 countries with the highest need, demonstrable commitment to achieving sustainable and efficient program outcomes, and the greatest potential to leverage U.S. government programs and platforms.
USAID's 25 priority countries account for more than 70% of maternal and child deaths.
Additional Countries Benefiting from Maternal and Child Health Support
In addition to supporting work in these 25 priority countries, USAID also provides support to an additional 18 countries to improve maternal and child health outcomes. These smaller investments are intended to play a catalytic role in supporting to fill funding gaps.
Aligning for Impact
There is significant alignment across these countries with other Agency priority countries, including nutrition, water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH), malaria, HIV/AIDs, as well as reproductive health and family planning.
