In Comitancillo, San Marcos, community authorities developed a protocol to address and mediate problems from a gender perspective. Collaboration between the community and local authorities begins to transform the participation of women, who have faced challenges to be part of community decision-making. Today the municipality recognizes their voice and the importance of their role in local development and, by putting it in writing, they make a commitment to positive and inclusive change.
