In Fiscal Year (FY) 2023, BHA responded to 76 crises in more than 64 countries and supported 11 active Disaster Assistance Response Teams (DARTs)—the highest number in more than 20 years. BHA also continued to deepen our investments and advocacy to support climate adaptation for the world’s most vulnerable populations, led USAID’s localization efforts within the humanitarian sector, and made great strides in the area of sanctions reform to mitigate the unintended consequences of sanctions on the delivery of humanitarian assistance.
