— USAID Administrator Samantha Power

Approximately 2.6 billion people are not connected to the internet, nearly all of which are in the least developed countries.

USAID's Technology Division works toward a world where open, inclusive, secure, and rights-respecting digital ecosystems enable people everywhere to thrive.

As USAID's experts in Digital Development, we engage governments, the private sector, and civil society to foster strong digital ecosystems, transform development and humanitarian assistance by promoting cybersecurity best practices and the responsible use of digital technologies and artificial intelligence, and apply geospatial data, mapping technology, and analytical expertise to target investments and achieve greater efficiency in operations, programs, and development outcomes.
