OVERVIEW
In support of the Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS and in partnership with the Government of Iraq (GOI), the Funding Facility for Stabilization (FFS) is a 30-donor, multilateral program to stabilize areas liberated from ISIS.
GOALS
FFS restores damaged or destroyed essential services and provides the conditions for the safe and voluntary return of displaced Iraqis. USAID is the largest donor to FFS. In addition to rehabilitating water and electricity infrastructure, schools, housing, and health facilities, USAID supports FFS to restore livelihoods through cash for work activities and small business grants.
IMPACT
- Rehabilitated 152 schools, 25 primary care clinics, 64 water treatment plants, and 22 electricity substations.
- Rebuilt the Qayyara Hospital, serving 600K people.
- Rehabilitated hospitals in urban centers serving 2.1 million people.
- Provided 1.2 million Anbaris with clean water.
- Funded COVID-19 isolation rooms and related equipment in nine provinces.
- Rehabilitated the Ninewa Medical Fluids Factory serving nearly 10 million people.
