The Moldova Institutional and Structural Reforms Activity (MISRA) aims to stimulate Moldova’s sustainable and inclusive recovery from the regional crisis caused by the war in Ukraine, and to catalyze improvements in its institutional, business, and trade enabling environment. To achieve these objectives, MISRA cooperates with public institutions and the private sector to support Moldova’s integration with Western economies and accession to the European Union.
MISRA is strengthening Moldova’s economic growth and resilience through digitalization, streamlined internal processes, enhanced government coordination, improved transparency and accountability, and reduced vulnerabilities to corruption and malign influences. These reforms are removing legal, regulatory, and other barriers that increase business costs, hinder investments, and limit the participation of small and medium-sized enterprises, women, and other economically marginalized groups. MISRA is also committed to inclusive development, with activities and a grants program responsive to local needs in collaboration with civil society and the private sector.
