Today, Administrator Samantha Power met with World Bank Group President David Malpass to discuss how the World Bank can help address the global food security crisis exacerbated by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. They spoke about calling on all countries to avoid hoarding commodities or taking protective trade measures that would further impact global food prices and supplies.
Administrator Power and President Malpass also discussed potential opportunities for USAID and the World Bank to support economic development in the West Bank, as well as the ongoing provision of support for basic human needs through the World Bank’s Afghanistan Reconstruction Trust Fund.
