Janiere Pereira serves as a Program Specialist within USAID’s Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization. Her portfolio includes the Europe and Eurasia Bureau, the Europe and Eurasia region, Policy and General Counsel. Previously she served with USAID’s Latin America and Caribbean Bureau (LAC) as a Desk Officer supporting two missions- Jamaica and the regional Eastern and Southern Caribbean mission. As a Desk Officer, she provided programmatic oversight, program design guidance and strategic coordination across the respective region. Prior to the LAC Bureau, she spent five years with USAID’s Office of the Inspector General overseeing USAID programs and operations in accordance with various statutory standards and authorities with the goal of improved efficiency, effectiveness, and compliance. Before joining USAID in October 2014, she held positions with several USAID implementing partners. Specifically, she managed health programs in the field of Malaria, Neglected Tropical Diseases and Gender based Violence. She holds a Master’s degree in Global Public Health and a Bachelor’s degree in International Affairs.
