Greg Howell serves as the Senior Deputy Assistant Administrator in the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Bureau for Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC).
Previously, Mr. Howell served as the Deputy Mission Director in USAID/West Africa and in USAID/Guatemala. Also, he worked as the Director of the Economic Growth Office in USAID/Guatemala and USAID/El Salvador as well as the Deputy Director of the Office of Economic Growth and Infrastructure in USAID/Afghanistan. Mr. Howell has managed economic development programs in USAID/Africa Bureau’s Office of Sudan Programs, the State Department’s Office of the Middle East Partnership Initiative, USAID/Iraq and USAID/East Africa. Prior to joining USAID, he worked as an entrepreneur and economic development consultant in South Africa.
Mr. Howell earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from The American University’s School of International Service and a Master's degree in International Management from the Thunderbird School of Global Management. He speaks Spanish and French.
