Randy Ali is the incoming Mission Director to Morocco. Prior to this, he served as the Deputy Mission Director in Bangladesh. He also previously served as the Senior Resident Legal Officer at USAID/Ukraine, where he provided legal services to the Ukraine and Moldova Missions and the Belarus Country Office; the Resident Legal Officer in Islamabad, Pakistan; and the Resident Legal Officer in Manila, Philippines, where he covered the bilateral Philippines program as well as the regional programs in the Pacific Islands and Mongolia.

Before joining USAID, Randy was a corporate finance lawyer in the London office of Allen & Overy, LLP, an international law firm. Randy’s practice focused on representing private equity funds, financial sponsors, investment banks and issuers in project finance and capital markets transactions in emerging economies, primarily, Nigeria, India, Pakistan, Bahrain and Ukraine. Randy also has experience funding and promoting sustainable development programs throughout the United States while working at the Jesse Smith Noyes Foundation in New York. Randy received a J.D. from the Georgetown University Law Center in 2005 and a dual degree in International Relations and Public Policy from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University.
