Christopher La Fargue, the USAID Country Representative for Libya, joined USAID in 2005 and has over twenty-three years experience in international development. His most recent assignments included USAID Senior Development Advisor for Iraq and Senior Policy Advisor with the Conflict Prevention and Stabilization Bureau. He also served eight years in the Office for Transition Initiatives and at USAID Missions in Bangkok, West Bank-Gaza, Madagascar, and Bangladesh. In addition to his work in stabilization, he has led teams overseeing programs in democracy and governance, food security, emergency response, and education.  Prior to joining USAID, he was a management consultant with the international practice at PricewaterhouseCoopers and a teacher in Switzerland and Japan. Mr. La Fargue holds a Master’s degree from Georgetown University, a B.A. from Louisiana State University, and a French teaching degree from the Université de Lausanne, Switzerland. More recently, he completed several graduate courses at Singapore Management University on tri-sector collaboration concurrent with his tour in Bangkok.
