Jun Jin (he/his/him) is the Acting General Counsel for the U.S. Agency for International Development and a member of the Senior Executive Service.
Mr. Jin joined USAID in 2004. Over the course of his USAID career, he has served in various legal and non-legal capacities, including as the Deputy General Counsel (Civil Service), the Assistant General Counsel for Acquisition and Assistance, the USAID and PEPFAR West Africa Regional Legal Advisor based in Abuja, Nigeria, the USAID Senior Development Advisor to the World Bank Group in the Office of the U.S. Executive Director, and Senior Counsel in the GC Division for Acquisition & Assistance. Mr. Jin is a Co-Lead to the Steering Committee of the Methodology for Assessing Procurement Systems (MAPS) Initiative. Prior to USAID, Mr. Jin worked for five years as a lawyer in private practice, specializing in government contracts and construction litigation. He has taught courses in international development law and international procurement at the George Washington University Law School, the Elliott School of International Affairs at the George Washington University, and the Columbus School of Law at the Catholic University of America. Mr. Jin is the Executive Champion to the Asian Pacific American Employee Council (APAEC), a USAID employee affinity group. He also serves as the Vice Chair of the Asian American Government Executive Network (AAGEN). Mr. Jin is a graduate of the George Washington University Law School (J.D. 1999) and the University of Pennsylvania (B.A. in Diplomatic History) and is a member of the D.C. Bar.
