As the Senior Development Advisor for USAID/Greenland, Dr. Patrick E. Meyer serves as USAID’s representative to the Government of Greenland and is based in the new U.S. Consulate in Nuuk, Greenland.
Prior to his assignment to Greenland, Dr. Meyer served as the Energy Advisor for USAID’s Regional Mission for Central Asia in Almaty, Kazakhstan from 2020-2024 where he led a complex five-country regional energy program. Prior to that, he served as Science and Environment Advisor for USAID/Bangladesh from 2016-2020 where he led a diverse portfolio to enhance energy security, build resilience to natural hazards, conserve ecosystems, and adapt to climate change. Dr. Meyer also served as the Science and Technology Advisor for USAID/Armenia from 2014-2016.
Prior to USAID, Dr. Meyer worked in the Department of State's Bureau of Energy Resources and he has also undertaken fellowships as Embassy Science Fellow in Malaysia in 2014 and Congressional Energy Policy Fellow in the Office of Congressman Jay Inslee in 2011.
Dr. Meyer holds a Ph.D. in Energy and Environmental Policy from the Joseph R. Biden, Jr. School of Public Policy and Administration at the University of Delaware and a Master and Bachelor of Science in Public Policy from the Rochester Institute of Technology.
