Development Internship Program (DIP)
The Development Internship Program (DIP) offers subsidized internships to recent graduates or students of the last year of university, interested in furthering the economic and social development of marginalized populations in Peru.
DIP is an outstanding opportunity for young professionals or students to gain hands-on professional experience with the U.S. Agency for International Development. Its goal is to train the next generation of development professionals and foster greater social inclusion. Since DIP’s creation in 2010, 41 young professionals, coming from different regions in Peru, have completed the program.
Through this program, interns have the opportunity to:
- Gain insight into USAID's work in Peru.
- Enhance their knowledge and experience in the design, planning, budgeting, monitoring, and evaluation of development activities.
- Strengthen their technical expertise in sustainable development, environmental issues, civil society, governance, migration, and global health.
- Understand how international donor resources and programs are coordinated with the Government of Peru and other donor organizations.
- Explore diplomatic relations and the experience of working in a foreign embassy.
