Although Vietnam has made great progress over the past two decades stemming HIV/AIDS, the epidemic persists among the most at-risk populations, including men who have sex with men, transgender women, female sex workers, and people who use injectable drugs. USAID has successfully supported innovative LGBTQI-led private clinics like Glink to provide high quality, affordable HIV services to these populations in Vietnam. On April 1, USAID partnered with Fulbright University Vietnam (FUV) to share this successful social impact-driven business model with an audience of 200 students at an annual FUV event focused on business innovation trends.
Social enterprises and clinics play a crucial role in the HIV response, yet challenges such as financing gaps hinder their growth. USAID provides support to help them improve and expand their operations to reach more people—and is sharing their successful business models with university students to strengthen their pursuit of careers in entrepreneurship.
