In July 2022, the Government of Vietnam established a coordination framework on protection and support for victims of trafficking to strengthen collaboration between four relevant ministries. After one year of implementation, 39 out of 63 provinces have developed their provincial-level frameworks. The government is now assessing the effectiveness of these frameworks in improving the coordination and provision of victim support services. As part of this effort, USAID’s Meeting Targets and Maintaining Epidemic Control (EpiC) project supported the Ministry of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs (MOLISA) to host a high-level meeting within the interdisciplinary task force to review the framework implementation, barriers and potential solutions, and plan for an impact assessment.
USAID-supported stakeholders within the Government of Vietnam are making a concerted effort to coordinate victim support services and the impact assessment will help guide future improvements.
