An impact of the COVID-19 pandemic in Vietnam has been the resignation of health care workers due to stress caused by working conditions. To prioritize the well-being of health and respond to the need for comprehensive mental health services for health care providers, USAID partnered with the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health to open a wellness room for the 600 staff at the Ho Chi Minh City Rehabilitation Hospital.

The wellness room offers a respite for health workers from their often intense medical duties, and serves as a model for the Department of Health to expand this concept throughout the city’s hospitals.
