Following the national launch in April of the USAID-supported Provincial Green Index (PGI), which encourages provincial governments to adopt environmentally friendly business ecosystems, USAID and the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry convened government representatives from all 13 Mekong Delta provinces on May 9 to benchmark their environmental policy under the PGI and assess gaps.

Discussion centered on the high vulnerability of the Mekong Delta to climate change, and the imperative to shift to a green growth model. This event received widespread coverage by 28 news outlets.
