Supported by USAID, FUV’s well-rounded liberal education is an inspiration for student intellectual curiosity and extracurricular pursuits such as community engagement and artistic expression. A team of four, female first-year FUV students recently competed against 12 strong rivals from six neighboring countries to bring home the Gold Medal from the Mekong Business Challenge, which supports young entrepreneurship and venture-led development of the Mekong region. This is the first win from a Vietnamese representative in 10 years.

The FUV team, named Seesaw Vietnam, will represent the whole region as they advance to compete in the Business Model Competition Global in the United States. Seesaw’s product is a set of gamecards of conversation openers that helps the players more profoundly understand their family, friends, and themselves. This game is not only entertaining, it also aims to enhance the mental health of the players by improving their connections with others. Their victory not only brings pride but also carries the ambition of a whole generation of young Vietnamese who believe in and constantly strive for a better world.

USAID supports FUV to build a successful model of modern curricula and case-based applied learning programs, promoting creative and critical thinking skills in a new generation of young leaders and spurring academic freedom and educational reforms in Vietnam.
