On June 8, with USAID/Vietnam Mission Director Aler Grubbs delivering commencement remarks on behalf of the U.S. Government at Fulbright University Vietnam 2024 Commencement Ceremony, the university graduated its second undergraduate class of 128 students. Launched in 2016 and supported by USAID since, FUV is the country’s first fully independent, non-profit university, and serves as a vanguard in Vietnam’s efforts to reform its higher education system. The FUV model is based on American traditions of rigorous liberal arts education and is firmly rooted in Vietnam’s culture and heritage. As FUV becomes more established, USAID is continuing to support it to build a strong and sustainable higher education institution delivering world-class education.
FUV is recognized for its growing role as a regional hub for public policy training, underscoring the vital importance of investing in human capital as a critical resource for future prosperity, security, stability, and development
