USAID has supported the installation of liquid oxygen (LOX) systems in 18 hospitals, with a planned 12 more in 2025, expanding access to this life-saving medical treatment. Maintaining these systems requires navigating complex procurement processes and managing reimbursements through Vietnam’s National Health Insurance. USAID provided technical assistance to support hospitals in managing individual procurements of liquid oxygen, and this week marks a key milestone as two hospitals, Cai Nuoc District General and Ha Giang Provincial General, have begun independent procurement.
