Health care workers face significant mental health challenges yet the fear of stigma often prevents them from seeking help. On October 11, U.S. Consul General Susan Burns attended a workshop where leaders from 70 hospitals in Vietnam discussed the outcomes and future support of a USAID partnership with the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health to improve health care providers' access to mental health services. Attendees discussed the impacts of strategic communication campaigns, stigma-reducing activities, wellness rooms in hospitals, and mental health navigator training—individuals who assist others in accessing mental health care and support.
