What does it mean to be a woman in politics in Yemen? To raise awareness about the challenges they face, Yemeni women politicians created an advocacy campaign titled “I am a Politician and it is My Right to Participate.” The campaign engaged 418 participants from Aden, Hadramout, and Marib and asked them to share stories of the struggles they have had to overcome in their commitment to active political engagement. USAID and the National Democratic Institute work to amplify the voices of Yemeni women and support their role as decision-makers in the public sphere.
