The DRG Annual Conference

For the past twenty-five years, USAID’s Bureau for Democracy, Human Rights, and Governance (DRG) has hosted regular conferences in late June, in-person or virtually. The annual conference is an opportunity to bring participants, including USAID officers and implementing partners, together for collaborative and interactive sessions; as well as discussions about sector priorities and program implementation.

The primary objective of the conference is to better understand and discuss USAID leadership’s critical priorities, vision, and plans for responding to the current state of democracy globally, and how USAID can best adapt and respond in the upcoming year.

Previous DRG Conference Overviews:

In November 2023, the newly-established DRG Bureau will convene the global DRG cadre in an in-person format for the first time in four years. Portions of the Global Gathering will be open to participation by USAID/DRG implementing partners.

The primary objectives of the Global Gathering are to 1) share, discuss, and obtain feedback on USAID’s top-line DRG priorities; 2) foster exchange among the global DRG cadre and partners on state-of the-art technical knowledge and trends, including experiences and lessons from the field and the latest evidence; and 3) provide training opportunities to strengthen and enhance the technical skills of the DRG cadre.
