On Thursday, April 28, 2022, as a follow up to the catalytic global infrastructure initiative announced by President Biden at the Carbis Bay G7 Summit last year, Power Africa and USAID will host a high level leadership roundtable discussion on the Healthcare Electrification and Telecommunication Alliance, a new partnership that will enhance health services and assist in COVID-19 response efforts through reliable, sustainable, and affordable electricity across Sub-Saharan Africa.
Leaders will discuss how electrifying and digitally connecting healthcare infrastructure will improve information sharing, strengthen vaccine cold chains, reduce health supply wastage, and allow for real time infection and disease tracking that can improve health outcomes for millions of vulnerable populations, while also substantially mitigating greenhouse gas emissions.
